This year, the first European Ecotourism Conference (EETC) is starting a new tradition in the European travel scene – an annual gathering of experts, business leaders, and public and private stakeholders to encourage ongoing conversations about the current state of ecotourism development and future challenges and opportunities. The EETC 2010 will be held in Pärnu, Estonia, from September 26-30, including pre- and post-conference tours to share Estonia’s local culture, natural beauty and rural traditions. Registration for the EETC 2010 is available at: http://www.european-ecotourism.com/registration/
This year’s EETC will focus on the theme, “Balancing Sustainability and Profitability,” addressing timely issues and challenges facing the ecotourism community in Europe and around the world. The conference program will utilize methods to engage participants in productive discussions, allowing everyone to actively participate in the knowledge sharing and learning experiences.
We hope you will be able to join us in Estonia in September, and be part of many of the on-site and online conversations before, during and after the conference.

Greentraveller is a website that provides information on how to have a green holiday. The founder of greentarveller is travel journalist Richard Hammond who is also one of the speakers of the European Ecotourism Conference.
Today greentraveller launched new online ferry journey planner with details of over 80 ferry journeys foot passengers can make between the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.
Richard Hammond says:
Travelling as a foot passenger on a traditional ferry service is one of the greenest ways to travel between the UK, Ireland and the continent, yet it is often difficult to find information on how public transport links in with the vast network of ferry services at home and overseas.
“Our new online ferry journey planner shows how easy it can be to take the train or bus to a ferry port then hop across to Ireland or Continental Europe and continue the journey overland.
“We hope that our online guide to ferry services will be the first port of call for foot passengers looking to plan and book their holidays overseas.”
