Andrei Blumer

Andrei Blumer is the president of the Association of Ecotourism in Romania (AER) and he provides
consultancy on various ecotourism issues both at the national and international level for more
than 10 years. He has an active contribution in developing and promoting ecotourism mainly in the
protected area regions in Carpathians and Danube Delta.

He has also offered his experience in ecotourism product development, certification and marketing
at the international level, such as: developing Botswana Ecotourism Certification System under
Botswana Tourism Board project, elaborating Sustainable Tourism Development concepts for the
model park in Turkey in the frame of PAN Parks Network or developing visitor management and
ecotourism concepts for Ukrainian Carpathian Parks under WWF project.

His professional motivation is to provide support for local economy, using ecotourism as a tool for
small scale rural development, local empowerment and traditional knowledge surviving, creating
value and respect on nature both for local and international communities.
