What are the dates of the European Ecotourism Conference?

The conference dates are Sunday-Wednesday, September 26th-30th, 2010, including pre- and post-tours.

Where is the conference located?

For the 2010 conference we have selected the beautiful city of Pärnu in Estonia to be our host. The main conference sessions and events will be taking place at the Strand SPA & Conference Hotel (Address: A.H. Tammsaare blv 35, Phone: +372 447 5370 website http://www.strand.ee/index.php?page=3 ).

How do I register?

You can register online at the Conference Registration page. We will reply you by e-mail.

What are the conference registration fees?

The registration fees for the conference are as follows:

Early Conference Fee is EUR 155 if you register before 1 of August.
(For TIES Members EUR 125)

Late Conference Fee is EUR 185 if you register after 1 of August.
(For TIES Members EUR 155)

How do I become a TIES member and what are the benefits?

Please visit the membership page on TIES website for detailed information on the membership levels and benefits, and to fill out the membership application form. As part of your conference registration, you will also be able to become a TIES member or renew your current membership for a special discounted rate.

Do you offer student discounts?

Yes, TIES and ESTECAS are committed to supporting students engaged in higher education in the field of tourism and natural sciences. To encourage students to take advantage of the learning and networking opportunities through the conference, we offer a 20% discounted registration for students. To be able to register at the student rate, you will need provide proof (e.g. current student ID) that you are enrolled in a university or college program at on-site registration.

Does the conference price include accommodation?

The registration fee does not include hotel accommodations. However, we do have a special conference discounted rates for selected hotels of Pärnu. For accommodation contact Reiser Travel Agency

Does the conference price include pre- and post-tours?

The registration fee does not include pre- and post-tours. However, we recommend you to take part of selected Nature and Culture Experiences both before and after Conference offered by local Ecotourism businesses around Pärnu and members of Estonian Ecotourism Cluster.

What is included in the conference price?

Registration fees include attendance for all Conference sessions and workshops, food and beverage during the conference (breaks and lunch), get-together including dinner on 27 September, conference materials.

Do you offer scholarships for delegates?

Currently there are no scholarships available for the ESTC 2010.
Can the conference organizer issue visa support letters for delegates from overseas?

Do I need a Visa to travel to Estonia?

Will the conference organizer help me with my travel needs?

Conference participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements, as well as any visa requirements. If you need assistance in travel arrangements please contact contact Reiser Travel Agency

How do I get from airport to Pärnu

There are three alternatives:

arranging your own travel by usin public transport

joining on of the transfer buses at additional cost of EUR 22 per direction Tallinn – Pärnu (EUR 44 Tallinn – Pärnu – Tallinn) , EUR 26 per direction Riga -Pärnu (EUR 52 Riga – Pärnu – Riga)

private transfer at additional cost EUR 110 Tallinn – Pärnu (EUR 220 Tallinn – Pärnu – Tallinn) , EUR 140 per direction Riga -Pärnu (EUR 280 Riga – Pärnu – Riga)

Will any part of the conference be translated in any other languages besides English?

No, the conference will only be in English.

What are the accepted forms of payment?

We accepts payment via bank transfer. After registration we will send you an invoice on conference fee. Your registration will not be completed until the conference fee is received.

If I am unable to attend, what is the cancellation policy?

Cancellation and refund requests received in writing by September 1, 2010 are subject to a EUR 50 administrative fee. Please send your request to e-mail european.ecotourism[at]gmail.com . No refunds will be granted for cancellations received after September 1, 2010.
